Fixed Fees – Clear, Agreed Costs

A fixed fee is exactly that – a set fee agreed in advance for your case or a specific part of it. This provides clarity and certainty from the outset.

We will discuss with you the work required, agree on the scope of that work, confirm the total cost involved, and set out how and when payment is to be made. This ensures you know exactly what to expect in terms of both the legal work and the cost.

Please note that fixed fees cover our legal fees only. They do not include disbursements (such as court fees, expert reports, or other third-party costs), which will be discussed with you separately at the outset and as your matter progresses.

Tailored Fixed Fee Arrangements

All our solicitors are highly experienced and approach each case on an individual basis. Our priority is to agree a suitable fixed fee based on a clear plan of action tailored to your specific circumstances.

We offer:

  • Fixed fees for an entire agreed plan of action;

  • Fixed fees for specific stages of a matter;

  • Fixed fee packages for court proceedings and the various stages within a case.

We understand that, occasionally, unforeseen developments may arise that require additional work outside the agreed scope. If this happens, we will notify you immediately. No additional costs will be incurred unless and until a new fee arrangement has been discussed and agreed with you.

Any variation from the agreed fixed fee will only occur if the work required changes significantly. In such cases, we will review the developments, assess their impact on your case, and confirm in writing if they fall outside the agreed plan. You will always retain the choice of whether to proceed under a revised arrangement.

Flexibility and Control with Fixed Fees

As the majority of court cases settle partway through the process, it would not be in your best interests for us to quote a fixed fee for the entire case from the outset—particularly when there is a real possibility of early settlement. Doing so could lead to unnecessary costs. Instead, our fixed fee approach allows you to pay only for the work that is required at each stage.

Fixed fees are also ideal for non-contentious matters, including:

  • Drafting a Will

  • Preparing a Lasting Power of Attorney

Our fixed fees give you the ability to limit both representation and costs to a specific stage of your matter. You then have the option to agree further fees if and when the next stage becomes necessary—placing you in full control of your legal expenses.

Should unforeseen circumstances arise that require additional work outside the agreed scope, we will inform you immediately. No extra costs will be incurred unless and until a new fee arrangement has been agreed with you.
